Christopher Rousseau

Rousseau appointed Manager

Rovers have today announced the appointment of Christopher Rousseau as the club’s senior team manager.

Acting manager Kosta Todorovic, who was filling the role temporarily, is stepping down and will focus on his primary role as the Chairman of the club.

Chris, previously a Rovers player, hung up his boots at the end of last season to join the management team.

As a hugely respected member of the Rovers family Chris has been with the team since its inception in 2018 and helped clinch the title and promotion only 2 years later.

“I was part of the group of guys who helped form the team and obviously with that comes a lot of extra effort that is needed to help keep the dream alive,” said Chris in his first interview since his new appointment.”

As the ex-vice captain of the club Chris is no stranger to the responsibilities that come with leadership roles.

“I think the management recognised my devotion to the team and felt that I had positive elements that I could bring to the management side after my playing days.”

Chris will work alongside the rest of the management and coaching staff and oversee the day to day operations of the club.

“I can be the link between the pitch and the management of the club.

“I’ve built a strong bond with the players over the years and I feel that it will help create the environment for growth, as individuals and collectively as a club.”

Having been with the club since day one, Chris is no stranger to the ambitions and high standards that are imperative at Rovers and has already had a hand in enforcing the club’s mission over the years.

“Rovers is a very ambitious club and we intend to create something that surpasses everything that has been seen on the Seychelles football scene so far.

“We want to be recognised as one of the most successful clubs and create a sustainable path for the future of Seychelles football.”

Club Chairman, Kosta Todorovic, spoke of his delight at the appointment: “I always knew Chris had what it takes to step into this role once he was ready to hang up his boots.

“The kind of football club we are looking to create requires a lot of time, effort and resources both on and off the pitch.

“Chris has been an integral part of our journey on the pitch so far and now he will continue to help drive us forward from outside of the pitch.”
