Rovers Football Club have agreed a record sponsorship with Absa, which will see the international bank become the club’s new principal and shirt sponsor for the next 2 seasons.
The agreement is the first in the club’s history, and is signed ahead of the first appearance in Championship 1 following last season’s title and promotion.
As principal sponsors, Absa will front all shirts, covering the first-team, under-20 and youth teams.
As a member of South African based Absa Group Limited, Absa Bank Seychelles has a long history of supporting football, both in Seychelles and as the official African banking partner of the English Premier League.
Rovers Chairman Kosta Todorovic: “We are delighted to welcome Absa as our new shirt sponsors as we enter another hugely exciting period for the football club.
“I’m confident we can achieve great things with what is Rovers’ first ever shirt sponsorship deal.
“As the team moves at an exciting pace on the pitch, guiding us into Championship 1 for the first time, it’s essential that off the pitch development continues at a similar rate, and this deal represents huge progression.
“A large focus has been placed on developing our youth academy structure, with the club providing football development for children as young as 4 years old, and this deal will only enhance our capabilities.”
Managing Director of Absa Bank Seychelles, Johan Van Schalkwyk said: “We are very proud to have a small part in helping elevate the sport in Seychelles, especially clubs like Rovers FC that have such a strong commitment to developing young talent and keeping children engaged in sports.
“We are encouraged by real Africanacity success stories, always finding a way to get things done and Rovers Football Club and Academy have displayed this through their big ambitions, making history and breaking barriers.”
