In Nick’s first interview he talks about signing for Rovers, what he can add to the team, and his ambitions for the coming season.
Nick, welcome to Rovers and happy birthday! How does it feel to be signing for the club?
Thank you! It feels good to begin a new challenge with Rovers and to start working with my new teammates. I’m really looking forward to helping the team achieve their goal of reaching the top of Seychelles football.
What is it about Rovers that attracted you to the club?
I saw that Rovers was a team which encourages young players by giving them valuable playing time. Their long-term goals, their management and their players all aligned with the next steps I wanted to take as a footballer. I already know some quality players who play here, like Abdul-Haq Jumaye, from our days in the National under-16 selection. I know already how these guys play and this also was a factor of me coming in the team.
Tell us a little bit about your style of play…
I am a passer which is important in the position which I play. I like to be aggressive and always try to play with intelligence. I like to adapt my play for the benefit of the team.
What will you be able to bring to the Rovers team?
I will be able to bring consistency to the team, aggression and the winning mentality so that we can achieve our goals and win the title.
When did you start playing football and how has your journey been up until this point?
I started to play at the age of 7 in the National youth selection and I haven’t stopped since. There were highs and lows along the way. Some people did not believe in me, told me I was too young and not good enough. But I’m here now to prove them wrong by helping to bring Rovers among the elite of the elite.
What are your ambitions for the coming season?
My ambition is to win everything. The league title and the cup. I don’t care who is in our way, whether it’s a Premier League or Championship team. I just want to win everything and earn the fan’s and peoples respect’s towards our team.
